Hi OpenCDISC team,

In OpenCDISC v1.4, there are rules for check variables length, such like SD1080, SD1081 and SD1082.

A weird message is if I assign the length based on actual value for --TESTCD, it's good the message '-- variable length is too long for actual data' will disappear, but 'Non-recommended variable length' (SD1057) will show up. Also, if I assign the length back to '8' for --TESTCD, the message '-- variable length is too long for actual datawill show up. The same situations will occur for those variables have expected lengths, that is SD1056, SD1057, SD1058, SD1059. They are sort of conflicting rules.

Do we need to assign the length based on actual value for --TESTCD, --TEST, --PARM, QLABEL, ARMCD, ETCD, QNAM, IDVAR, ... and so on?

Hi Kyle,

All "Non-recommended variable length" checks will be retired in v1.4.1
