Hello all,

I think it would be usefull to allow the Validator to process files separated also by the "tab" delimiter.

The UI now allows the user to specify the delimiter manually: by default it is comma. But he has no means of specifying "tab" as a delimiter. Maybe you can add an editable combobox with these two values predefined (tab and comma)?

Hi Amelia,

Early versions of the validator worked with Tab Delimited data. Actually all our original test cases were done by using this format. ;)

However later we removed a Tab Delimited format as not popular one. We can add it back in the next release.

Hi Sergyi,

I think it would be great to offer this flexibility to the Validator.I personally encountered situations when the datasets were tab delimited. And converting them by hand to comma-delimited is not really an option.

Any estimation on when the next release will be available? :)

Best wishes,

Amelia

Hi Amelia.

Actually Validator still works with delimited data. We changed only a GUI, but not an engine.

When open Validator,

1. chose "Delimited" Source Format

2. enter "\t" into Delimiter field.

Note, that now those filed can display only one symbol. So you will not see a character after "\".

Let's know if you will have any problems.

Sergiy

Hi Sergyi,

Can you, please, tell when the new release will be available for download? And if it includes updates to the validation rules for SEND (in the idea of a better compliance with the FDA validation rules)?

Best regards,

Amelia

Hi Amelia,

A target date for the next release is February, 26th. It will include validation of SDTM 3.2, define.xml v2.0 standards and support for CDISC SDM-XML format.

v1.4.1 already covers most FDA SEND checks. Our gap analysis shows that only 16 FDA's rules are needed to be implemented. We are working on clarification of FDA's descriptions for 5 rules.

Thanks,

Sergiy

Hi Sergyi,

Thank you for the clarification. I'm looking forward to see the new release and to "play" a little bit with it. Is the source code from your public SVN up to date and the one that will go into the next release? If so, I would be happy to try to use it a little bit for SEND 3.0 before the official release (I'm specially interested in the rules from config-send-3.0.xml).

Also the analysis of the OpenCDISC rules vs the FDA rules would offer people a centralized view of the differences and what to expect from the validator. So it would be valuable to publish this analysis on the website; do you think this would be possible?

Best regards and congratulations on all the great work you are doing.

Amelia
