I am not able to generate an Excel specification using the Define.xml Generator. It does not matter whether I try to generate it from XPT files or from a define.xml document. The progress window opens (screenshot below), but then nothing happens.

EDIT: The problem was solved by unzipping the files to c:\pinnacle21 instead of c:\Program Files\pinnacle21.

Hi Fredrik,

I assume that your excel specs have metadata consistency problems. You can send your excel file to me for diagnostics.

Kind Regards,

Sergiy

Thank you Sergiy, but the Excel specification is what I am trying to generate.

Sorry, then I need your dataset to try diagnosing the issue. You can create one row dummy dataset.

Here are some potential reasons

  • XPT file name and its dataset name are not the same
  • Invalid SAS XPORT v5 format. For example, using SAS PROC CPORT
  • Issues with correct installation of P21 tool

Sergiy, I have sent you a dummy ADSL.xpt by e-mail.

By "installing" the program in a subfolder to C: rather than in a subfolder to C:\Program Files, we managed to get the program to work.
