How long after a new version of the Community software is released is the old client jar file expired?

For background, it appears that if you run P21 Community from the commandline, it will not run if there is no internet connection. If there is an internet connection and you run using an older client jar file, it will give the following exception:

"Installation qualification check Expiration date check failed for GLOBAL"

Hi John,

This message just means that there is a newer version of the engine now available. You can either run the software from the GUI which will download the latest engine for you or you can download and re-install the latest version of Community from P21 website.

Kind Regards,
Sergiy

It is not just a message. It throws an exception that prevents the validator from completing. Does this mean that as soon as a new version is available, the old version stops working?

Hi John,

This exception means that your Community installation stayed offline for more than half a year, regardless of the specific engine you use. When internet connection is not available or limited, Community will quickly become outdated and may produce validation results that are no longer compatible with regulatory agencies. The same applies to CLI, as it uses the same set of engines.

Thanks,

Philipp
