Enhancements and Feature Requests

I will suggest you to add the possibility to read tab delimited source data in the SDTM Validator. I believe that the risk to have clinical data that contains tabs are less than having other delimiters included.

I am using the validator tool with contractors who are giving us files. Some have started to use the it as well. This is very good! But we are finding some bugs and it would be good to have a central location to get a list of the known bugs in the current validator release.

What is great is that you have quickly updated the software so perhaps this is asking too much given the workload. Still if this information could be shared then it would help with error checking.

Can you get a browse path to to link to the customized config-sdtm, if we change the xml depending on the study and the checks we want to do other than provided to us we can modify and point to the path where the xml is located

Two suggestions:

1. I was wondering if you could add a link or print the line number of the define that violates the rule.  In the error report it will say something like Rule XXXXX: ItemRef blah blah blah violated 143 times, but I have like 2000 ItemRefs and it's hard to pinpoint.  Line number would help.  Is that possible?

 

Excel output is very nice feature! I am running the beta version and when the report was created I got a message about exceeding the number of rows in Excel (65536). However, I have Excel 2007 on my machine which can handle more rows. It would be nice if the production version takes this into account. The reason we have many errors is that we have very large datasets and we get a lot of replicates. Is it possible to put in a user specified cutoff such that once the number of errors exceed some value for each check the checking stops?

Congratulations with the first public release of the product!!! Some suggestions about Validator Alpha report generated from GUI: To be used for documentation purpose it needs to include the names of checked datasets and validation-rules file. It's nice to have those info plus date/time stamp at the begining of the report.
